Picture of the Week. Releasing Pelicans.

G'day, mates! How's it hangin'? (Don't get confused, I'm just in the mood for being Australian.)
Today, I'm going to give the picture below a really nice caption about what's happening in the picture. And as I said that I am in the mood for 'being Australian', I'll be using many Australian slang words and phrases (and the accent if you can hear me AHAHAHA). Anyway, let's get into it!

  1. What do you see? People (probably from Turkey), great white pelicans about to be released, cold day.
  2. Why do you think they are Turkish? I'm just guessing! Maybe they're German, who knows?
  3. How do you know that those are great white pelicans?  According to Wikipedia, great white pelicans are plumage white, and they have pink facial patch and legs.
  4. Why do you think they're releasing those pelicans? Wait, do you think they will eat them after taking a photo? Oi, they can NOT! Pelicans race? Nup, I don't think they would do that.
Okai, I finally got a perfect (and very short) caption for the picture:
People are about to release great white pelicans on a cold day.
So that's it. Ta a lot for reading, and have a good one :)

What is going on in this picture?

Hello there! Hope you guys are having a great day!
Well, I have a cool picture from 'The NY Times' to show you, and what I'm going to do is to give it a (kinda) creative caption.

What's the first thing that came to mind when I saw this? He's filming! Not a movie, but probably just a short video for his Youtube channel because I'd do that too (not flipping) if I go to this kind of place.
Why? Um, who would be performing such a perfect flip (probably a backflip) in such a place while (almost) everyone else is gone, right?
Isn't he trying to escape? I don't think so. Because his clothes are still clean compared to that little boy's.
Isn't that an accidental flipping? No. It looks like he's intending to do it.
Wait, how about that kid? What's he doing there? Oh, it seems like he's looking for something (or someone), and he's confused, like "why am I here? Where's everybody?" ahahaha.

Okay, now I have my perfect description for this picture.
A guy is filming a short video for Youtube channel in a destroyed place. He's doing an incredible flip to impress his subscribers. And there's a kid in the middle of thinking 'What happened? Why am I here? Where's everybody?'
You can comment your idea (caption) below if you want to. And thank you for reading!
Bye :)

How good are you when it comes to decision making?

Hello everyone! Hope you guys are doing great :)
Okay, what I am about to show you is a very good test. I think it's not really a test but a kind of role-playing, you have to decide what to do if you were that person in the story, and they will tell you if your decision is a good or a bad one by rating you (giving you 0-5 stars) in the result .
Oh, you might have guessed why I am talking about a test, yeah I will show you my result of the test which is really impressive to me.

There are 3 stories (or tests), I selected the first one "School Tragedy". The reason is that I felt like the title is sort of interesting, and being a decision maker in the newsroom just sounded so challenging.
In the story, Steve Kimmel is a news director who is working hard to raise the quality and ratings for KSDU-TV, and he has to make it within 1 year. He have to make a decision "which feed should be chosen to air?" between feed A, the close-up shots, and feed B, the wide shots. I picked "feed A" because it's important for audiences to recognize the person who got shot, maybe they're friends or cousins, and to see how serious the injury is.
Then the next thing I saw was:
SCORE:
My reaction: Woah! I thought it'd take me so long but NO. It took me 15 minutes, I just made only 1 decision and yay! I got 5 stars!! So quick.
If you want to take the test and find out how many stars you will get, click: The Elements of Verification.
Thanks a lot for reading.
