Last picture of the week, Indian Women

Hey! I'm back from the dead!
So today I have this picture of the week, and I am going to write a nice caption for it! I will make it short and sharp.

Indian women are having a religious ceremony and there is a bunch of foam. They're carrying flowers and fruit to use in the ceremony.
Yes, that's it. Short and sharp (or not sharp) just like I said. I love doing this, to be honest. But sadly, this is the last picture that I have to write a description for. (nooo!)
Anyway, thank you so much for reading this short post of mine. :)

Article of this week.

Hey guys, what's up!? Ceiling? Oh please, I'm trying to be serious! Wait, where is my Australian accent? Oops,I forgot that you can't hear me. I think my Australian accent is gone on vacation, but it'll come back so soon, AHAHA! It's gone to a music festival in Gold Coast by the way. Jealous? Me too.
Okay, enough for the Australian accent thing because I have a news from ABC News to share with you guys! Excited? No? Whatever.
So its headline is: "Gun fired, car damaged in suburban Canberra street". Before anything, I have to ask, have you read this article before? If yes, that's good. But if no, you can scroll down to the bottom of this post and you'll see the link so you can read it after reading this.

So this article is about what happened on McLorinan Street in Chisholm, Canberra, ACT. Two men wearing balaclavas shot a car's windscreen and leave. On Tuesday, detectives found a gun, balaclavas in a business premises in Phillip and ammunition in a Kambah home. A man is arrested for "unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition", and he's also expected face ACT Magistrates court within this month.

Okay, I didn't notice any bias. I think the author was being honest because he didn't label anyone or spin any information.
It's so bad that many countries are getting peaceless everyday, people get shot, killed, murdered. And it's so sad that Australian has 0.86 of firearm-related death rate. Its population was estimated to be 23,688,300 in 2014. So 0.86 = about 200,000! Gosh! That's a lot of people!

Thanks for reading! And if you want to read detail about what happened, here's the link: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-12-03/gun-fired-in-suburban-canberra-street/5936080?section=act

Picture of the Week. Releasing Pelicans.

G'day, mates! How's it hangin'? (Don't get confused, I'm just in the mood for being Australian.)
Today, I'm going to give the picture below a really nice caption about what's happening in the picture. And as I said that I am in the mood for 'being Australian', I'll be using many Australian slang words and phrases (and the accent if you can hear me AHAHAHA). Anyway, let's get into it!

  1. What do you see? People (probably from Turkey), great white pelicans about to be released, cold day.
  2. Why do you think they are Turkish? I'm just guessing! Maybe they're German, who knows?
  3. How do you know that those are great white pelicans?  According to Wikipedia, great white pelicans are plumage white, and they have pink facial patch and legs.
  4. Why do you think they're releasing those pelicans? Wait, do you think they will eat them after taking a photo? Oi, they can NOT! Pelicans race? Nup, I don't think they would do that.
Okai, I finally got a perfect (and very short) caption for the picture:
People are about to release great white pelicans on a cold day.
So that's it. Ta a lot for reading, and have a good one :)

What is going on in this picture?

Hello there! Hope you guys are having a great day!
Well, I have a cool picture from 'The NY Times' to show you, and what I'm going to do is to give it a (kinda) creative caption.

What's the first thing that came to mind when I saw this? He's filming! Not a movie, but probably just a short video for his Youtube channel because I'd do that too (not flipping) if I go to this kind of place.
Why? Um, who would be performing such a perfect flip (probably a backflip) in such a place while (almost) everyone else is gone, right?
Isn't he trying to escape? I don't think so. Because his clothes are still clean compared to that little boy's.
Isn't that an accidental flipping? No. It looks like he's intending to do it.
Wait, how about that kid? What's he doing there? Oh, it seems like he's looking for something (or someone), and he's confused, like "why am I here? Where's everybody?" ahahaha.

Okay, now I have my perfect description for this picture.
A guy is filming a short video for Youtube channel in a destroyed place. He's doing an incredible flip to impress his subscribers. And there's a kid in the middle of thinking 'What happened? Why am I here? Where's everybody?'
You can comment your idea (caption) below if you want to. And thank you for reading!
Bye :)

How good are you when it comes to decision making?

Hello everyone! Hope you guys are doing great :)
Okay, what I am about to show you is a very good test. I think it's not really a test but a kind of role-playing, you have to decide what to do if you were that person in the story, and they will tell you if your decision is a good or a bad one by rating you (giving you 0-5 stars) in the result .
Oh, you might have guessed why I am talking about a test, yeah I will show you my result of the test which is really impressive to me.

There are 3 stories (or tests), I selected the first one "School Tragedy". The reason is that I felt like the title is sort of interesting, and being a decision maker in the newsroom just sounded so challenging.
In the story, Steve Kimmel is a news director who is working hard to raise the quality and ratings for KSDU-TV, and he has to make it within 1 year. He have to make a decision "which feed should be chosen to air?" between feed A, the close-up shots, and feed B, the wide shots. I picked "feed A" because it's important for audiences to recognize the person who got shot, maybe they're friends or cousins, and to see how serious the injury is.
Then the next thing I saw was:
SCORE:
My reaction: Woah! I thought it'd take me so long but NO. It took me 15 minutes, I just made only 1 decision and yay! I got 5 stars!! So quick.
If you want to take the test and find out how many stars you will get, click: The Elements of Verification.
Thanks a lot for reading.

I'm a Libertarian Leftist?

Hey guys!
Today I'm back with another test's result! This test took me like (2) hours to finish but I'm sure it was not a waste of time. It's "Political Compass Test" by the way. And here's what I got:

Economic Left/Right: -2.88

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.46

See a red spot on the graph? Well, that's where I stand, I'm a libertarian leftist! (wait, is it a good thing? I guess YES). Honestly, I was very surprised by the result because I thought I would get something like "Your Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: - 4.00" (HAHAHA no joke!). Anyway, I kinda like my result even it's different from what I expected it to be.
These are 'some' examples that I want to show you guys:

  • Our race has many superior qualities, compared with other races. (Strongly disagree! Woah I must be crazy if I say I agree with that haha)
  • The enemy of my enemy is my friend. (Agree. I mean, who doesn't?)
  • Abortion, when the woman's life is not threatened, should always be illegal. (Strongly agree with this. Why? Abortion results in death of a baby!)
  • The most important thing for children to learn is to accept discipline. (Disagree! I know it's important but personally, I think it's not the most important thing)
You can take the test here to find out if you are a libertarian leftist (like me) or rightist, or authoritarian leftist... And don't forget to share your result with me!
Bye...

=> My "Implicit Association Test" Result.

Hi everyone!

I have taken an implicit bias test last 2 days, and I got: "Your data suggest a strong association between young people and personal warmth" as my result. To be honest, I wasn't surprised at all when I first saw my result because I knew in the first place that I would get a result saying something about me and young people, and honestly the result just makes sense to me. Anyway, I did enjoy taking the test and I'm so ready for the next one!
